My Back

Hi everyone last Sunday I went to a BMX race meeting in Cambridge.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              It was one of the last meetings of the racing season, It was just about a week after we got back from Australia and I was wearing my Australian race jersey. I had just had a couple of practice laps and I was coming up about medium speed for the fourth double and manualed it, I manualed and kept manualing down the downside eventually until I flipped. As soon as my back hit the down side my race shirt came up to my neck and I slid down the jump and ripped all the skin off the lower half of my back. After about 10 minutes the finally got me off the track and onto a stretcher. The medic tried to give me some laughing gas to ease the pain but it didn’t seem to work. Then they told us they were going to take me to hospital to treat the wound. After they got me and mum into the ambulance the started to take us to hospital but on the way we had to stop and pick up this poor old lady who fell off the curb and broke her hip. Well in the end we got into hospital had a free BLT sandwich and a hot chocolate the doctor treated the wound and said I can’t do any physical activity for around a week.

Bye.

I’m Back!

Hi everyone I’m back from Aussie. I had an awesome time, we got billeted out in different places like in Maitland me and this other boy from Tauranga went to a boy named Jarrod’s house it was so fun. For my racing I got 3rd in the twelve year boys to Australia #1 and #8. In my mighty 11s special class (for 11 year olds only) I versed Aussies and Kiwis and overall got 3rd in the B final.

For the mighty 11s test racing the kiwis were leading on points by 8 until the last race where all we needed was a 2nd and a 3rd. We were leading and in third until halfway through the lap the Aussies took us out over the berm and in the end they won 100-95. We fought hard but sadly come out second.

Saints-19 Kihikihi-7

On Saturday the 9th of May arch rivals Kihikihi and Te Awamutu Sports faced off in their second grading game of the season. Both teams looked in good form coming off first game wins, it was going to be a tough battle. Fortunately we (Saints) won the toss and Kihikihi kicked off. We had an awesome first half with a penalty 15 meters out from the line, we decided to take the kick for goal unfortunately Zak missed it. Then a stroke of luck occured they knocked it on and we got a five meter scrum. Josh B got the ball and drove over the line and scored. Then Zak got the kick its 7-0 to us.

Just before half time Kihikihi scored their first and only try. So at half time it was 7-7, we had a break and a drink then got back into it.

In the second half Joshua and Zak scored their tries in the end itwas 19-7 to the Te Awamutu Saints.

BMX National Champs 2009

Hi everyone just got back from the BMX racing New Zealand championships in Whangarei it was so awesome. We arrived up there on Tuesday 7th April and got back on Monday 13th April. We stayed at the Fountain Lodge motel which they were very good to us. We got to stay up the very top of the drive way, well enough about the motel. Now onto the racing, on the Friday I trialled for the New Zealand Mighty 11s team (it’s a 11 year old team of 5 that travels to Australia to race them in team racing) but I missed the final ( top 8 ) by one point. Anyway I still get to go on the trip because my dad is coaching the team. I race two bikes, a cruiser ( 24″ ) and a 20″. Over all I got New Zealand 5 out of 25 on my cruiser and on my other bike I unfortunately fell off and got 16 out of 47. Well that’s my Nationals Bye.

Warriors-14 Storm-14

Warriors halfback Stacey Jones blew two chances to snatch victory in golden point extra time against Melbourne, with the sides settling for a 14 all draw at Olympic Park.

The New Zealand Warriors faced off against the Melbourne Storm at Olympic Park on Saturday. The Storm took off to a ripper of a start leading 10-6 at half time. But soon after the Warriors came back with Manu Vatuvei getting over the line in the 55th minute to make it 14-10.

The Warriors then tied up the match when they got another try from Patrick Ah Van. After 80 minutes and two missed drop goals the game went into golden point. In golden point Stacy Jones missed a drop goal from right in front of the posts. And another when he fumbled the ball then passed it back to Lance Hohaia who was on target, but it was called a knock on. In the end it was a draw.
